Don’t Throw Away That Old
McKenica MHS-7 Cutoff Just Yet!

Mill Masters has developed an electrical upgrade for the MHS-7 Cutoff Machine. The tried and true MHS-7 Cutoff which is one of the industries top radiator tube cutoffs.

Currently MHS-7 users are being forced to replace the MHS-7 due to the limited electronic parts available to keep the Cutoffs operating. Bill Panthofer, President of Mill Masters, comments that “Mill Masters customers will now have a more cost effective option to replacing the MHS-7 Cutoffs”. The Emerson Controls that are currently operating the MHS-7 Cutoff have become obsolete, and replacement electronic components are getting extremely scarce. In an effort to respond to the needs of the many MHS-7 users, Mill Masters has been developed a new generation of MHS-7 Cutoff using state of the art controls. This new control package is just the first step in the new generation of MHS-7 upgrades and is now available for delivery.

There have already been six customers to date that have taken advantage of the new upgrade package.

Let's Talk Tooling
Roll form tooling and its various components have come a long way in a short time. In the past five years the utilization of computer-aided design (CAD) programs has proved itself as the standard by which all tooling is produced.

Before a block of hardened steel is ever turned on a lathe, software programs allow Mill Masters Engineers to check their work in three dimensions to see how it holds up under the stress of production conditions. These programs play an important role in turning design into reality.
Mill Masters actual production of superior tooling is an eight-step process -- soft turning, keying, stamping, heat treating, flat grinding, hard turning, boring, and polishing -- that turns tool steel into a complete set of forming and sizing rolls.
